Behind the Scenes of Filming 3

Simon our technition. He is turning the lights on and doing a quick test to ensure the electrics are safe and ready to use.

These are the electrics that the lighting system is set up on. It is a large hazard and to avoid injury we did not tamper with it at all.

The hall is being cleaned up from the kids going home so that's one less thing that we need to do.

Setting up the lighting positions and colours. Simon watched when I began to check that I knew what I was doing and soon left when he realise that I wasnt misusing the equipment.

This is the software that is used to move the lighting. It looks complicated but only a few of the buttons where needed for our filming.

Moving the lights took time. I had 4 lights that I needed and all needed to be in the right place to crate the correct effect.

Here i have changed the lighting to the colour I wanted. This was a deep red.

Moving the drum kit from the music room to the Hall. We made sure we didn't carry too much equipment as not to damage ourselves and the equipment.

Here I have moved all the lights to the correct places and colour. Unfutunally these images where not taken on my camera and where taken on one that is not as good.

Setting up my idea for the light under the drum and water. I added the water on the skin of the drum and James turned on the light to the correct intensity to create the right colour.

This was the result. I think it went very well. This shot will be slowed down to the lyrics "up in flames".

James playing the drums to 'up in flames'

Will playing the piano to 'Up inflames'

Camera equipment including: HD camera, Tripod and Dolly.

Images of filming the drummer an piano player.

Filming the water on drum scene. i took many takes for this at different angles and zooms. This was so we have as much choice as possible when editing.

Cleaning the floor of water was also important so there was no slip hazard or water on electrics.
